Manu National Park, a rainforest in Peru, is home to over 1,300 species of butterflies. Rainforests around the world support half of our planet's wild plants, trees, and animals. Suprisingly, some rainforest soils are poor in nutrients. They sustain so much life because dead leaves, roots and wood decompose quickly, returning nutrients to the soil.
