Dr. Patrick Megonigal is the Curator of the Dig It! Exhibition.
Pat Megonigal is a Senior Scientist at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC), and the Principal Investigator of the SERC Biogeochemistry Laboratory. He holds a PhD in Biogeochemistry from Duke University. Dr. Megonigal was an Assistant Professor of Biology at George Mason University before joining the Center in 2001. He is currently the Lead Curator of Dig It! The Secrets of Soil and President of the Society of Wetland Scientists. His major research interests are in Soil Carbon Cycling, Microbial Ecology, Global Change and Wetland Ecosystems. He digs soils!
